1 c. BBQ sauce
2 T. red wine
1 T. garlic powder
1/2 t. each: basil, oregano and lemon pepper
Combine, mix well and pour over your choice of meat. Cover and marinate over night. Drain, reserving liquid. Cook meat, brushing on sauce. Makes 1 cup.
I have used this on chicken and ham, very easy and good.
Since I prepared this, ham now has code dates. Ham will stay fresh 7 to 10 days after purchase. Wrap opened ham in plastic wrap, not foil to prevent discoloration. Avoid frying ham as color and flavor is reduced. Only store frozen ham up to 2 months. Not long ago due to my own ignorance, I let a nice bone-in ham spoil because I lacked knowledge on how to use it.
