Smokin' BBQ sauce

February 5, 1988


1 c. strong black coffee
1 1/2 c. Worcestershire sauce
1 c. catsup
1/2 c. oleo
1/4 c. lemon juice
2 T. sugar
1 T. salt
2 t. cayenne
1/4 t. marjoram

In a medium saucepan, simmer ingredients for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Serve over ribs.

In the deep south,there is a bbq sauce based on black coffee instead of catsup, this is in between the two.
Southerners use a tea ball full of chicory to the sauce, but I'm not of fan of chicory.
